KLRU is your Ticket To Ride

Posted on Aug 17, 2019

Maybe you don't have an octopus' garden in the shade to cool off in during this scorching weather, but you can always turn to KLRU for some chill summer tunes. It's day six of KLRU's August fund drive, and we've got some music programming (*The Beatles*!) and thank you gift opportunities that will make you wanna twist and shout! Plus we've cut a whole week from this drive!

KLRU has just four days left to reach our $220,000 goal, but I've got a feeling we'll make it in time with your Help! Just visit klru.org/donate.

Why give this August? Here are two key breakdowns:

  1. KLRU's fiscal year ends in September. Meeting our budget is imperative for bringing in new episodes of national programming like Masterpiece and American Experience as well as supporting local productions like Overheard with Evan Smith and Austin City Limits.

  2. The end of summer can be a difficult time to fundraise with people on vacation and the school year starting up. But the only way KLRU can continue cutting down the length of our drives is when people show their support with their dollars. You gift today directly translates to less on-air interruption.

KLRU is all about music this week.
We're airing Straight No Chaser: Songs of the Decades at at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 24 & 5 p.m. Sunday, August 25 on KLRU.
The Ron Howard film The Beatles: Eight Days a Week airs at 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 21 at 8 p.m. on KLRU Q

If you like live music or are an a cappella fan, our exclusive ticket package is a great opportunity to support KLRU! For a one-time donation of $200, you and a guest will attend the Straight No Chaser show this November 8 at Texas Performing Arts with a pre-show meet and greet with the group!

Want to share your love of KLRU across the universe? You can be on your way here, there and everywhere when you make a sustaining gift of $7/month and receive our KLRU + The Beatles tote bag.
