2 Days Left with 2x the Impact!

Posted on Jun 6, 2019

KLRU's Five Day, Online Only June Drive ends tomorrow and we still have a significant gap to cover toward our $100,000 goal! The generosity of neighbors like you is what powers the high-quality, one-of-a-kind programming that is only available on KLRU, your local PBS station. KLRU broadcasts content that takes the time required to tell powerful stories, research world events and observe the natural wonders around us. From our youngest citizens who learn skills like reading, kindness and curiosity to adults who turn to us for fact-backed news, stunning documentaries and escapist dramas, KLRU is a wide open window to our world.

Now, with with just two days left on the fundraising clock, we are so pleased to announce a $10,000 match to help us reach our summer goal of $100,000! But we can't meet the match unless you pitch in! KLRU viewers and longtime supporters Ellen and David Berman have promised to meet your donation, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. That's a potential $20,000 that you can help us raise to sustain KLRU's growth and outreach for this generation and the next.

There are many reasons why YOUR public media is important — one reason is the array of local productions KLRU creates which reflect, challenge and celebrate Central Texas. Our current list of homegrown shows includes Central Texas Gardener, Austin City Limits, Austin Revealed, KLRU SciTech Now, Arts In Context, The Daytripper, Blackademics Television, Overheard with Evan Smith and Decibel. From public affairs to the creative arts, from history to Texas travel, KLRU strives to tell the stories that matter in the lives of the communities we serve.

June 3 to June 7 marks KLRU's Online Only Drive. This is our shortest fundraiser of the year, with absolutely no on-air interruptions. To keep program break-ins to zero and to reduce the length of our drive to just five days requires commitment from our donors. We absolutely cannot do this without your contribution. Consider what public television means in your life and give what you can. And know that your gift now supports this important community space not just in your home, but in the homes of all our neighbors. Visit klru.org/giveback to make your gift today!

From the beginning, the PBS mission has been to educate, entertain and inspire. As your PBS station, KLRU remains steadfast in that mission, and we cannot thank you enough for allowing us to remain such a vital part of our beautiful hill country home.
