NEXT Nights Carmen Sandiego

Where in the World will this NEXT Night Take You?

6:30pm - 8:30pm

Google Fiber, 201 Colorado St

We’re going on another caper in search of Carmen Sandiego. Grab your passport and taste locally-made food and drinks from around the world. As you jet set across the globe, try your hand at henna, twist and turn as you learn Macrame and create an origami masterpiece essential to your top-secret mission.

And it wouldn’t be a Carmen Sandiego night without a little trivia. Test your geography and PBS knowledge with two rounds of trivia for your chance to win KLRU prizes.

NEXT Nights Julia Child

Bon Appétit! with The French Chef

6:30pm - 8:30pm

Revelry, 908 E 5th Street, Unit 106

Step with us into the kitchen as we celebrate everyone's favorite PBS cooking host and French chef, Julia Child. Taste bites from French spots around Austin, sip on complimentary wine and beer, and get a little messy as you decorate your own chef’s apron. We’ll have live chef demos straight from the Julia Child cookbooks!

NEXT Nights Julia Child

Día de Los Muertos

6:30pm - 8:30pm

Mexic-Arte Museum, 419 Congress Avenue

It’s a Next Night fiesta celebrating the Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead – inspired by the KLRU show Arts In Context. We’ll be immersed in the Mexic-Arte Museum’s decorative alters and installations for the holiday. Become a part of the art as artists apply La Catrina make-up. Make your own rose crown and decorate calavera de azucar (sugar skulls). We’ll have tasting from tequila spirits and bites from some of our favorite taco spots in town.
