Lana and Bob Beyer Garden

On CTG, Lana and Bob Beyer show how their perspective on gardening changed when 2011’s harsh warm weather fried their grass. They replaced their grass and designed a new look with pathways that wind around perennial and succulent beds. Lana and Beyer were forced to learn more about adaptive native plants that could withstand drought and deep freezes.

Bob and Lana Beyer had to change their garden designs with their move from Houston to Austin when their grass was burned from 2011’s harsh sun. Some of the changes included the types of grass, plants, and pathway designs they had used before. Mostly perennials and succulents filled their garden along with other native plants that they found could withstand deep freezes but most importantly severe droughts.
