Father Brown joins KLRU lineup

Based on the short stories by G K Chesterton, Father Brown follows the kindly cleric as he solves crimes in his community. It is a quintessentially English world: drawing rooms in large country houses, miles of countryside, village halls and secret gardens, as well as country fairs, railway stations and rural parish churches. Father Brown will air Sundays at 10 pm and Saturdays at 8 pm.

Each episode sees the enigmatic priest investigate a crime in his own particular way, using intuition and psychology. Father Brown discovers the truth of a crime by looking into the truth of the soul – the passions, dark secrets, hidden desires. Many years spent hearing his parishioners’ confessions have given him an uncanny insight into the origins of evil and the workings of the criminal mind. But the stories are not concerned with judgement – Father Brown is more interested in saving souls than in bringing the guilty to justice.

10/20 – The Hammer Of God
When an ungodly man is murdered at the unveiling of a new church clock, Father Brown must find the killer before an innocent woman is sent to the gallows.

10/27 – The Flying Stars
Father Brown becomes embroiled with a theatrical family when he discovers that a supposed tragic drowning was actually murder.

11/3 – The Wrong Shape
Soon after his poetry recital, Leonard Quinton is found hanging in the conservatory. When Father Brown realises that he could not have committed suicide, the search begins for a murderer.

11/10 – The Man In The Tree
When Lady Felicia finds a stripped and injured man stuck up a tree, Sid is implicated as the perpetrator. Can Father Brown prove his innocence, or has Sid gone too far this time?

11/23 – The Eye Of Apollo
(This episode )When the Church of Apollo comes to Kembleford, Susie is drawn to their charismatic leader Kalon. After Kalon’s wife is murdered, Father Brown must break his spell over Susie or risk losing her forever.
