Notes from Evan Smith
"Ronnie Earle is the Travis County District Attorney.
Earle was first elected Travis County District Attorney in 1976, and is presently serving his sixth four-year term. He has been reelected four times without opposition. Earle has garnered national attention recently for his investigations into alleged ethics violations by Texas for a Republican Majority, a political action committee chaired by Tom DeLay. Prior to being elected District Attorney, Earle served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives, chief counsel of the Texas Judicial Council, and presiding judge of the Austin Municipal Court." - Evan Smith, Texas Monthly Talks, Broadcast 5.5.05
