"Matthew Dowd served as Chief Campaign Strategist for George W. Bush's 2004 campaign. Dowd previously acted as a Senior Advisor to the Republican National Committee and was the Director of Polling and Media Planning for President Bush's 2000 campaign. Before joining the Bush campaign, Dowd was President and Founding Partner for Public Strategies, Inc., the Austin-based public affairs firm he helped create in 1989. While with Public Strategies, Inc., Dowd served as Bob Bullock's chief campaign consultant for his two successful runs for Lieutenant Governor.
