I was just blown away by the interactive geometry sites in this week's activities. I can't choose just one. I want to do all of them in my classroom. I had no idea there were such neat tools available. What's even better is that they're free! This course has some great lessons, but I'm getting just as many good ideas from all of the participating teachers.
E. Mechler, Round Rock ISD — Geometry for Grades 3-5

This class has been such a great experience! I've especially enjoyed dialoguing with teachers from other schools and grade levels about number sense. So many wonderful ideas have been shared that I can take back with me to the classroom.

This class provided the opportunity and the motivation to actually find appropriate sites to use with primary students! It also has inspired me to try to create some games of my own. This will make integrating technology so much easier this year. I can't wait to share some of the sites I have explored with my teammates. I'm really glad that I had the opportunity to take this online class. It has been awesome!!

Whew...if I only knew where to begin. My thoughts have run every color of the rainbow and then some through this whole course. I have found, like everyone else, unbelieveable websites and insites as to what and why we are supposed to teach the curriculum we are required to teach. While the readings were extensive, and the amount of paper and ink used almost incomprehensible, it has been worth every single minute. The information I have gleaned and the knowledge I have added to my existing knowledge base have been totally wonderful.
J. See, Austin ISD — Geometry for Grades 3-5

I loved the online professional development. I liked being able to work at my own pace and being able to do other things at home, like washing and watering my yard, while doing staff development. How can I sign up for more? Thanks again for a great experience.
C. Gibson, Austin ISD — Math and Science Connection for Grades 6-8

WOW! What cool sites. I had no idea so many interactive mathematical sites were available. I am glad I took this course (well at least for now — Ha, Ha) because it is giving me an opportunity to explore where I have never been or had the TIME to do so.
P. Pavlica, Round Rock ISD — Geometry for Grades 3-5

I almost dropped out a few times when I felt like there was just too much going on and not enough time to do it but, I stuck with it and now have a solid 3-4 day introductory probability unit of which I am proud.
J. Tiffin, Austin ISD — Probability for Grades 6-8

I really liked the NCTM Illuminations site because I too sometimes have difficulty with spatial reasoning. The "Exploring Geometric Solids" site really lets the learner see the solid from many different angles. I especially like the way the shape can be rotated and made transparent so you can easily identify edges and vertices.
J. Williamson, Round Rock ISD — Geometry for Grades 3-5

I am so much more prepared to teach geometry and to integrate more technology in my math classroom because of this class and all of your wonderful posts. Thanks and my students thank you as well.
P. Bartholomew, Round Rock ISD — Geometry for Grades 3-5

I learned so-o-o much in this course. I could feel my brain cells being massaged! Janet was a wonderful facilitator, and the course was well-paced. I had a lot to learn to catch up with the teachers who taught math on a daily basis. I loved being immersed in the NCTM standards and in the professional articles in the course. Because of the course, I am much better prepared to purchase books for the library as well as guide the new teachers in selecting manipulatives from our library collection for use in their classrooms.
