Anne Lamott
Author Anne Lamott mixes quirky humor and unabashed spirituality to explore complicated issues. Lamott will lift, comfort, and inspire on Tuesday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre.
From alcoholism and motherhood to religion and family, Lamott uses a personal honesty in her writing that reflects her faith and life experiences. She is the author of numerous novels including Hard Laughter, Rosie, Joe Jones, All New People and Crooked Little Heart, as well as four best-selling non-fiction works including Operating Instructions and Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life.
Lamott has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship, and has taught at U.C. Davis, as well as at writing conferences across the country. Her biweekly Salon Magazine “online diary” Word by Word was voted The Best of the Web by Time magazine.
Lamott's latest book, a collection of essays titled Grace (Eventually): Thoughts on Faith, was published in March 2007.
