KLRU Schedule | Minds Behind The Station | Episode Details

For years, scientists, astronauts, science fiction writers and the general public have dreamed of having a permanent space station in orbit around Earth. The United States and Russia have had orbiting space stations since 1971 and are now cooperating with other nations to build the International Space Station, a place that will maintain a permanent human presence in space. MINDS BEHIND THE STATION is a documentary for viewers of all ages about the NASA scientists who designed the Space Station and maintain the floating laboratory that is used as a base for space exploration, observation and research. Graphics and animation sequences provided by NASA illustrate the design of the current space station, exploring how they are created and the role they may play over the next decade.
