KLRU Schedule | PBS NewsHour Weekend
Never Trump Movement

Never Trump Movement: One year into his term, President Trump has redefined conservative politics -- and split conservative intellectuals. Last year, a cadre of prominent conservative Republicans moved to prevent long-shot candidate Donald Trump from securing the party's nomination and then the presidency. But those voices had little sway over rank and file voters who catapulted him into office. One year after President Trump's inauguration, conservatives are now split over Mr. Trump's presidency. Some cite his series of policy victories on federal taxes, judges and regulation that fall in line with the conservative movement's orthodoxy, but for others concerns over his public temperament and character have only deepened. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Jeff Greenfield reports on how Trump has redefined what it means to be conservative.
