Public radio talk show host Diane Rehm talks about her life and career, from growing up in Washington, D.C. as the sheltered daughter of Arab immigrants to her new memoir, On My Own, which recounts how her husband's death influenced her own ideas on mortality and the right to die. Rehm is interviewed by award-winning writer Ann Patchett, author of the novels Bel Canto and State of Wonder, along with many other essays and works of fiction. The program was recorded in March 2016 at the University of Louisville Kentucky Author Forum.
