A Light Show Across the River Elbe in Hamburg: We report on Anthony McCall's spectacular light installation Crossing the Elbe in the German port city of Hamburg. It will be in place for twelve months, starting on March 22, and will light up the skies for 20 minutes every evening. **Notre Dame Cathedral: This famous landmark in the French capital celebrates its 850th anniversary. We report on the new bells that have been cast to mark the event. Experimental Shoe Designs: We report on a Leipzig exhibition showcasing shoe design from around the world. The exhibition runs until late September 2013. Lampshade Designer Catherine Grigull: Berlin designer Catherine Grigull's paper lampshades might be simple but they are eye-catching all the same. The designer uses paper that is partly handmade and imported from the Himalayas or Japan. Typewriter Artist Dirk Krecker: Dirk Krecker creates images with old typewriters. At first the letters and symbols appear random - but take a step back and you'll see that each keystroke plays an important part in a bigger picture.
