Singer/mandolinist Doyle Lawson is yet another deserving winner of a National Heritage Fellowship (2006). Lawson's band is known as the School of Bluegrass for its many high-profile alumni. This latest batch of hot young pickers lives up to that legacy, as Lawson leads them through state-of-the-art traditional and progressive bluegrass, as well as some of the most compelling a cappella Gospel harmonizing seen or heard anywhere.
