In this opening segment, Jerry takes his students through the process of preparing the canvass for the under-painting. Then, he paints in the sky, using the Hake Brush with the wet-on-wet technique. Then, he shows how to under-paint the foreground snow. He ends this segment using the #4 Script Brush to paint in the background trees.
