Sugar Free Schools: The Link Between Nutrition And

Yvonne Butler PhD. Author, Consultant. Dr. Yvonne Sanders-Butler grew up the sixth of 8 children in a sharecropping family with little knowledge of healthy nutrition. Then in 1996 she nearly suffered a massive stroke, which she attributed to a lifetime of unhealthy eating habits. As a principal of an elementary school, she also saw the effects of poor nutrition in her students, and began a school-wide campaign to create a sugar-free school in Georgia-the only one in the United States at the time-She soon saw drastic improvements in her students mentally as well as physically. She shows us the link between proper nutrition and academic success. Green Tip: Tami Nelson discusses Green Baby Diapers.
