Born to Greek immigrants in Brookline, Massachusetts, he eventually became the longest serving governor in that state's history, and in 1988 he was the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. But his name and campaign will always be linked to the Republican political ad featuring furloughed rapist Willie Horton, and the image of him driving a tank - two often-cited reasons for his eventual loss to George H.
