KLRU facilitates Summit on Depression in Older Adults

Summit of policy makers, community leaders, service providers, physicians and clergy to discuss how the Greater Austin area can more effectively serve the needs of older citizens who are suffering from depression.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
An upcoming PBS documentary about depression in older adults is serving as a catalyst for local organizations to come together and address the issue. Depression: Out of the Shadows will be broadcast on KLRU, Austin PBS, on May 21, 2008. The film will provide a comprehensive portrait of depression never before presented on American television. In addition to the broadcast of this documentary, KLRU is facilitating this summit of local leaders on depression in older adults and also producing a local documentary on the problem in Central Texas.
