KLRU Awarded $150,000 Grant from RGK Foundation
KLRU-TV, Austin PBS, has received a $150,000 grant from the RGK Foundation to support the station's marketing and development infrastructure project.
This project is part of KLRU's strategic plan to provide improved customer service to members and transform the infrastructure to build a stronger and more diverse base of support for the station. This plan will help insure the station's continued success as Federal funding to Public Broadcasting decreases. The project consists of four components:
- Upgrading the donor database and enhancing the ability to manage it with
technology-driven tools
- Hiring a Webmaster to provide strategic directions for using the new
technologies
- Training staff in the new technologies as well as in best practices
- Conducting market research about the station's viewer and member base
The project will allow KLRU to increase membership, decrease the number of
on-air pledge days annually, cultivate new major donors, and create a broader base of support in Central Texas.
The RGK Foundation endeavors to be a catalyst for change in humanitarian concerns. Guiding the foundation is a deep reverence for democracy and a civil society together with the founders' values of foresight, imagination and discovery. By seeking innovative projects in the area of health, education, human services and community affairs, the Foundation strives to advance knowledge, improve society and help realize human potential.
