ABOUT THE SUMMIT:

In association with the documentary A Lion in the House, airing on PBS in June, KLRU has convened a group of community partners to raise awareness about childhood cancer and the resources available in Central Texas.  The Summit is one outgrowth of this collaboration. Other initiatives include: a local documentary on Austin Now, a statewide conference of professionals in June and a local telephone support line when the documentary airs June 21 and 22. Partial funding is provided by the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston

KLRU:

KLRU-TV, Austin PBS, reflects, celebrates and inspires Central Texas through creative excellence,
community engagement and lifelong learning. Although primarily a television station providing locally produced and quality national programming, KLRU is also a non-profit organization helping to build a stronger community through educational workshops, community outreach projects and public events.
