MARTHA SPEAKS
MARTHA SPEAKS is an animated series that airs daily on PBS KIDS. The series targets viewers between the ages of four and seven with the educational goal of increasing children’s oral vocabulary. Based on the children’s book series by Susan Meddaugh and published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the series stars Martha, a beloved family dog, who is accidentally fed alphabet soup, giving her the power of speech and the chance to speak her mind to anyone that will listen. Each episode features two 11-minute stories (including six adapted from the classic books), which showcase Martha’s new found linguistic abilities and the hilarious consequences—all with a goal of engaging kids and expanding their vocabulary.
