With the overabundance of media-types flocking to the “blogosphere”, I had to ask myself the question, “Why not me”? I mean, after all, I have tons to say, and a blog gives me a new soapbox from which to broadcast what’s on my mind. And isn’t that what’s most important? I suppose the real question should be: do any of you out there care what’s on my mind? Well, I can’t answer that (and I hope that you answer it kindly if you choose to do so), but I can say that I am elated by the opportunity to add blogging to the work I do for KLRU.
What is it that I do for KLRU? Well, in addition to brightening the days of my co-workers, I produce television. More specifically, I produce television documentaries. I love documentaries. I love watching them, researching them, and producing them myself. If you’re watching one, chances are you’re probably interested in or affected by the subject matter. This is why I’m so thrilled about working on Docubloggers. It not only allows me the chance to produce substantive documentaries for the people of Central Texas, it also allows those people to share their thoughts with everyone else in the region. That’s true interaction!
I feel that Docubloggers is taking documentary work to the next level; the contemporary, postmodern, create-your-own-experience level of television information and entertainment. My hope is that all of you out there join us in this endeavor and connect to the Docubloggers community when the mood strikes you. More importantly, I hope that you all have as much fun participating with this show as we’ll be having producing it. Happy Docublogging!
