I learned to read with Dr. Seuss. In fact, I refer to my father as “Pop” to this day because of one of my favorite books in the Seuss catalog. This early exposure to Dr. Seuss was what drove me to pursue this story. Many know his role as a children’s author and illustrator, but few realize the depth and quality of his art. (more…)

The Docubloggers team has been fortunate enough to collaborate with Nancy Schiesari and Deborah Wise, who have worked with the University of Texas at Austin on a series of short documentaries profiling inspiring people and stories from around Texas. This collection, dubbed the American Trustees Project, will be featured throughout this coming season of Docubloggers. We couldn’t be happier to showcase such wonderful stories!

This is a short film I did while I was in school. The assignment was to find some strange festival happening in Texas and make a short doc about it. The one I choose was Texas Gator Festival, which is held in Anahuac, Texas each year. The festival coincides with the first days of the Texas alligator hunting season. Apparently there are so many alligators in this part of Texas that they have to be controlled. Enjoy!

So I just heard about this whole docublogger thing from a friend of mine who is having one of his pieces shown on KLRU. It sounds like a great way to see other peoples work as well as showcase some of my own. I’m glad to be here and I am looking forward to viewing some other local filmmakers work. I’ve posted one of my videos concerning the Marfa Lights out in west Texas, so let me know what you think.
