Watch for aphids, since they will be more active. Many beneficial insects, including the larvae of green lacewings and lady bugs dine on them, so leave a few for them to eat. Then you'll have the beneficials around to deal with other insect pests.

Remember to keep your trees watered if rain continues to elude us. It's especially important to watch the moisture level on shrubs and trees you planted this spring. Water slow & deep, not just a top sprinkling. Then let them dry out. You don't want to overwater them, either.
