You also still have time to plant some cool season vegetables. At this point, you'll want to grow transplants, not from seed. Keep adding lettuce, spinach, broccoli, kale, and Swiss chard.

Plant cool-season flowering annuals: snapdragons, sweet peas, wildflowers, and pansies.

Turn your compost pile. In the summer's heat, they slowed down a bit. Then, when we got the heavy rains (or some of us did), it slowed down because it was too wet. So if you haven't turned that in the last month or so, go ahead and turn that so you can get it going again.
