• Pick up old coffee grounds at coffee houses to add to your compost pile.
• Watch for insects like scale, mealy bugs and fungus gnats on houseplants. Spray the leaves and stems with neem oil. You can also do a soil drench with soapy water or orange oil to deal with soil-borne larva. Be cautious about overwatering in winter.
