Texas Mountain Laurel (Sophora secundiflora)
A drought hardy evergreen small tree that every spring fills the air with the gaudy, beautiful, wonderful fragrance of bubblegum, great bubblegum that is. It's a slow growing tree but one well worth waiting on. It will make a tree for you, but you can also trim it a little bit and end up with kind of a nice evergreen hedge.
