Linda Lehmusvirta, Central Texas Gardener producer, has called KLRU home since 1983, when she came on board as associate producer for the award-winning PBS children’s series, Newscast From the Past. She has worked as a producer and production manager for many KLRU, regional, and national productions.

Documentaries at KLRU include Austin Remember When, Austin Remember When: Lasting Memories, as well as contributing producer for Austin Remember When: Laguna Gloria.

Programs for the PBS network include Backyard Butterflies and Backyard Bugs.

Since 1987, Linda has produced Central Texas Gardener, taking it to a weekly format in 1999. She is a hands-on gardener who relies on personal experience, viewer interaction and local experts to design programs that address concerns for both novice and veteran gardeners.

In 2003, the Garden Writers Association of America awarded her Best Talent-Electronic Media for a segment on Hill Country Lavender.

She also writes garden articles for several publications, including Austin Home & Living and Garden Design.
