Tips of the Week

  • If you have fruit trees that have become overgrown in the center, prune out some of those branches, so that the rest will be healthier.
  • Put a slow hose on new perennials, trees, and shrubs to keep them watered deeply.
  • Spray a hard blast of water under leaves that may be troubled by spider mites.
  • Replace hummingbird water every few days. Be sure to wash out bird baths and other wildlife watering troughs to fend off mosquito larvae.
