CTG has another face on Facebook!

July 12th, 2011 Posted in Uncategorized

For months, CTG has had a FB-generated community page. But gardeners are control freaks and I wanted to have our own page. At the same time, gardening is easier when you get some help, so I wanted another spot where we could interact.

Since it’s too hot to work outside, last Sunday I “gardened” online.  It would be mighty fine if headed to www.facebook.com/CentralTexasGardener to “like” us & join in the fun!

Thanks!  Linda

I don’t do Facebook. Not from a lack of computer savvy, just not interested in yet one more thing to have to keep up with. Please don’t ever go to Facebook as the primary source of info!

Hey, I certainly understand! I am totally with you! CTG online, broadcast, the blog, and web are still going to be there for sure!! Now, if I can keep up, that’s another issue! Oops, time to go cook dinner and play with the bunnies, cats, and dog.

Does this message mean there will not be anything on the CTG blogsite anymore? I don’t do facebook and do not want to get involved with facebook or Twitter. Does that mean I won’t be getting the weekly blog?

If so, I’m truly sorry because I do enjoy the information and photos. Many times I go to the blog after the show airs to revisit the information.

Please tell me it isn’t discontinued.

Hi, Pat! Indeed, I’m still doing the blog!! In fact, I’m working on Thursday’s missive right now. Hope you like it, because this one may be the most significant ever. And thank you for encouraging me!

Linda, please do not abandon the blog for Facebook! I do not do Facebook either, too many privacy issues for my taste.
    Thank you.

Hi, Hella! Believe me, I’m not abandoning the blog! In fact, I’m working on Thursday’s issue right now. FB is just another way to spread the good word. Hope you and your plants are faring well!

A lot of us don’t do Facebook, etc. for several reasons besides just time – like security fears. I enjoy the blog and the Sat. morning CTG show – we are drier, a lot less soil, a whole lot more deer and colder in winter over here in Kerr, but still a lot of similarities in plants, overall climate, etc. to western Austin.

    Keep up the great work!

Hi, Mike! Believe me, the show is my main commitment. The blog is an extra. FB and all that are just another avenue! Well, at this point, I think Austin is like El Paso or San Angelo! Doesn’t matter where we live; it’s fun to get all the philosophy, creative ideas, and how-tos that we can adapt to anywhere. Thanks so much for being in touch!!

Facebook is indeed not the be-all, end-all in communication…but it’s definitely a good tool to get the word out, since so many people do use it. I’m now one of the new CTG “Likes!”

Hi, Jo, thanks! Actually, I need to go over and like Angel Valley. I’m still catching up with this all. For sure, not the main way to communicate. It’s just another avenue. To less sleep.
