Autumn Fire Sedum

autumn fire sedum

Autumn Fire sedum is a great succulent, especially for our drought-tough gardens. I like succulents for their structural beauty and toughness in summer. But they are just as beautiful in winter too. Many of them, like Autumn Fire, are very winter hardy and won’t freeze.

During the summer Autumn Fire has beautiful white flower heads that sort of look like broccoli florets. Then, as the days start to get shorter, the flower heads start to turn the slightest pink before the flowers open. As we get further into fall, the flowers start to turn a bright, bright red, which is why it’s called Autumn Fire.
