Cedar Sage is an excellent choice for dry shade. It will flourish and provide a pop of color in that hard-to-vegetate condition. Adapted to live in the leaf litter of Ashe Juniper, Cedar Sage is one of few plants that will perform under heavy cedar growth.

I like Cedar Sage but never had much luck with it under my arborvitae.

Hmm. No clue. Sometimes mine don’t do well either. Maybe it’s a bit too shady for you? They like some sun which could be my problem too.
