On July 12-14, 2012 “Solo Symphony” told the story of Austin Symphony Conductor Peter Bay.  As the live 13-piece ensemble of musicians weaved in and out of classical compositions and original music by Graham Reynolds,  Bay conducted in true to life and abstract ways. With the visionary choreography based off Bay’s gestures, choreographer Allison Orr created a unique piece that exposed his unique conducting style, passion for music, and the artistry and grace which he performs his job. “Solo Symphony” is a project of Forklift Danceworks, which celebrates the extraordinary in the ordinary by creating original performances inspired by the movement of everyday life.

S.F. Austin High School’s Ballet Folklórico is a for-credit dance program in Austin, TX. While it may be just a class to some students, this dance program allows its participants to grow academically and socially through collaboration and leadership opportunities.  These students  proudly represent their  art, culture and school in dozens of performances throughout the community each year.
