René Norman grew up in Chicago and went to the University of Maryland to major in Dance. She moved to Los Angeles, where she lived for the next 18 years. It was there, in L.A., she met one of her best friends, who noticed her sense of color and really encouraged her to pick up the palette and start painting. She followed her instincts and soon enough she was being collected by movie directors and carried by galleries. Her entire life, spent painting in one form or another, finally became her all consuming passion.
