From the team that brought you the groundbreaking Half the Sky, A Path Appears uncovers the adversities faced every day by millions of women and girls, while also presenting glimmers of hope and change. Click here to watch a preview.
The screening will highlight stories of women breaking the poverty cycle through education and opportunity for their young children. After a short segment from the film, a panel of local early childhood experts will discuss issues from the documentary as well as challenges and solutions here in Austin. Panelists include Cathy Doggett, Ed.M., Nurse Family Partnership Team Lead, Texas Home Visiting Program; Mary Dunlap, Mental Health & Disabilities Coordinator, Child Inc.; and Jacquie Porter, Director of Early Childhood Education, AISD.
