Join Evan Smith and KLRU’s Texas Monthly Talks on Friday, March 26, at 10 a.m. for a conversation with Jake Silverstein, Editor of TEXAS MONTHLY and author of a new book, Nothing Happened and Then it Did: A Chronicle in Fact and Fiction. RSVP here. Silverstein was previously a reporter at the Big Bend Sentinel in Marfa and a 2002 Fulbright Scholar in Zacatecas, Mexico. He is a Contributing Editor to Harper‘s magazine and an essay for that magazine earned him the 2007 PEN/USA Journalism Award. He joined TEXAS MONTHLY as a Senior Editor in 2006 and was named Editor in 2008.

On March 13th, a cast of celebrated Texas musicians including Raul Malo, Augie Myers, Shawn Sahm and more will join together for the broadcast of Texas Music Extravaganza. Against the backdrop of the famous the Austin City Limits studio, these musicians will play for the studio and broadcast audiences. RSVP here

In the studio: Two of Austin's "Busiest Virtuosos" perform for In Context

As part of KLRU’s commitment to presenting local art to Central Texas, In Context will tape a performance by two notable musicians and we’d like for you to join us as part of the studio audience on Feb 22. RSVP here

The Austin American-Statesman calls cellist Bion Tsang and pianist Anton Nel “two of Austin’s busiest virtuosos,” and their newest live CD, featuring Brahms Sonatas for Cello and Four Hungarian Dances, is the latest chapter in their two-decade musical kinship.

To celebrate this new CD, available on Feb. 23 from Artek Recordings, Bion and Anton will be taping a performance for KLRU’s In Context on Monday, Feb 22, at KLRU’s Austin City Limits studio. The duo has selected some of their favorite pieces for cello/piano from Brahms, Boccherini, Grieg, Rachmaninov and Shostakovich.
