KLRU Partners With ACA For A Creative Sector Summit 4/19

Since January 2015, the Austin Creative Alliance has convened a series of Creative Sector Summits to progressively address the affordability challenges facing the arts, culture and creative industries in Austin, and KLRU is a proud partner!

On Tuesday, April 19, Austin Creative Alliance’s CEO, John Riedle, will speak at the upcoming Creative Sector Summit. Joining him are Shea Little (Big Medium, ACA Board Chair), Jenny Larson (Salvage Vanguard Theater), Debbie Kizer (Imagine Art), Brad Carlin (thinkEAST) and Clara Brill & Matt Puckett (Mother Falcon). The event is free, but you must register to attend. Register now

With over one hundred organizations and leaders from music, performing arts, film, visual arts, design and media participating in the process, the summits identified the most urgent shared issue as a crisis in creative infrastructure. Amid skyrocketing property costs and rapid population growth we confront a looming loss of music venues, theaters, galleries, studios and work space.

The Summit will take place in KLRU Studio 6A and the schedule is as follows:

6PM: performance by Mother Falcon and complimentary Tito’s cocktails.
6:30PM: briefing
7:30PM: Q&A and member discussion
