To mark Dr. Seuss’ birthday, on Friday, March 1, at 8:30 am & 2:00 pm, KLRU-TV will premiere two back to back episodes of THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT! “Rumbly Tumbly/Planet Name Game.” Nick, Sally, and the rest of the Seussian gang join the Cat as they embark on adventures great and small. From a super-shrunken trip into Thing One’s stomach to learn why our tummies rumble to an epic endeavor in search of the Top of the Sky, both episodes feature the show’s signature whimsy and scientific curiosity.

Each month, KLRU chooses a program for your family to enjoy together. This month’s Family Choice program is NATURE’S “Attenborough’s Life Stories” where it captures over 60 years of remastered sequences in a series of three episodes.

NATURE’S “Attenborough’s Life Stories”
This mini-series focuses on three fields that David Attenborough feels have been transformed most profoundly: filmmaking, science and the environment. It is richly illustrated with the sequences he has spent 60 years capturing and they are re-mastered for the first time in HD. With new interviews in which he revisits the content, stories and locations that were featured in his landmark series, “Attenborough’s Life Stories” is a synopsis of a unique half-century.

“Life on Camera”

In “Life on Camera,” Sir David Attenborough revisits key places and events in his wildlife filmmaking career, reminisces through his old photos and reflects on memorable wildlife footage, including swimming with dolphins and catching a komodo dragon. Returning to his old haunts in Borneo, he recalls the challenges of filming on a seething pile of guano in a bat cave.

8:00pm – Masterpiece Mystery! Presents: Poirot X: Murder On The Orient Express
David Suchet (Henry VIII, The Way We Live Now) stars as suave Belgian super sleuth Hercule Poirot in this mystery based on the novels by Agatha Christie. Whether he’s on holiday abroad, taking a countryside break or simply going about his business near his central London home, Poirot finds himself exercising his “little grey cells” by helping police investigate crimes and murders, whether they ask for his help or not. Securing a last-minute ticket on the Orient Express from Istanbul to London, Poirot finds himself amongst a host of eclectic fellow passengers. When the train becomes caught in a snowdrift and a passenger is found brutally murdered mid-voyage, the famous Belgian detective is called upon to investigate the crime and find the culprit. Dame Eileen Atkins (Cranford), Hugh Bonneville (Miss Austen Regrets) and David Morrissey (Sense and Sensibility) guest star.

9:30pm – David Suchet on the Orient Express
This program takes us across the Europe of today and reaches into bygone eras. With glamour, insight, charm, beautiful photography and fascinating characters, Suchet leads us on an epic journey on an iconic train through a series of romantic cities and stunning scenery.

The Light/ The Holocaust & Humanity Project was an education partnership that promoted the protection of human rights against bigotry and hate through arts, education, and public dialogue. The culmination of KLRU’s contribution to Light / The Holocaust & Humanity Project 2012 however, was a series of original programs including
Arts In Context : Producing Light; Overheard with Evan Smith “Elie Wiesel“; Civic Summit: Creating a Community of Respect; and SPARK at The Moody “Gerda Weissmann Klein.”

Martha learns that Helen’s extended family will be coming for Thanksgiving and decides to search for her own long-lost canine siblings. Tails begin to wag as the family reunites, but where is Martha’s mother? In search for her mom, Martha digs into her past to uncover the reason they were separated. Can Martha and her friends solve the mystery and find her mom in time for the family reunion? Tune-in all Thanksgiving as this special episode will be airing all week long.

A Hurricane has swept through Sesame Street and everyone is working together to clean up the neighborhood. When Big Bird checks on his home, he is heartbroken to find that the storm has destroyed his nest. Big Bird’s friends and neighbors gather to show their support and let him know they can fix his home, but it will take time. While everyone on Sesame Street spends the next few days cleaning up and making repairs, Big Bird still has moments where he is sad, angry, and confused. His friends help him cope with his emotions by talking about what happened, drawing pictures together, and giving him lots of hugs. They also comfort Big Bird by offering him temporary places he can eat, sleep, and play. Big Bird remembers all the good times he had at his nest and realizes that once it is rebuilt, there are more good times and memories to come. Finally the day has come where most of the repairs to Big Bird’s home are done and his nest is complete. As he is about to try it out, though, the city nest inspector says it not safe, yet, because the mud isn’t dry. Big Bird is sad that he has to wait another day, but Snuffy comes to the rescue and blows the nest dry and he passes the test! Big Bird thanks everyone for being his friend and helping to rebuild his nest and his home.
