Amplify: Your Amplify Austin gift to KLRU will make your PBS station eligible for bonus donations thanks to incentive donations from the day’s sponsors.
Interested in becoming a fundraiser? We have some pretty great prizes to sweeten the deal if you do! Here’s how:
1. Go to KLRU’s Amplify page — AmplifyATX.org/klru
2. Once on our page, click “Create a Fundraising Campaign” button on the right hand side, adjacent to scrolling photos.
3. Create a donor/fundraiser account for ease of tracking your donations and managing your fundraising pages. Please provide name, email, and password in order to submit information.
4. Then click the tab “My Fundraisers” upon entering newly created account. From this tab, click ”Create a Fundraiser” to start campaign profile.
5. Upload all information needed for a complete Fundraiser Profile. Once all information is uploaded, click “Submit Fundraiser for Approval.”
6. Profile(s) must be approved by KLRU for it to be active and public facing and ready-to-share.
7. KLRU will approve as they come in.
Fundraising Page Fun Facts:
Fundraisers receive a confirmation email when a gift has been made during the giving day on their fundraising page. The donor to their page receives a tax receipt when their gift has been processed.
Fundraisers also have backend access to basic donor information on donors that have contributed on their page. This is important for personal thank you notes and tracking. KLRU also has access to all of that donation information and donor data as it relates to individual fundraiser pages.
Fundraisers’ goal thermometer on their page will not move until the day-of when actual transactions are being processed and run. Scheduled donations are merely scheduled, not run yet, and will not reflect on the fundraiser page until the giving day begins. If you have a fundraiser whose thermometer goal has moved prior to Amplify Austin Day, it is because they received a real-time live donation that is not part of Amplify Austin Day.

You spoke and we listened! We’re kicking off our Winter Fundraising Drive this week, but we want you to know that we’re doing things a little bit different this time around.
In an effort to keep more of your favorite PBS programs on-air during fundraising periods, this drive, we’re pledging to provide one full week of your regularly scheduled primetime shows, like Antiques Roadshow, Nova and Masterpiece Theater. It’s a full week of YOUR FAVORITES and we’re counting on you to do your part to support the shows you rely on each week, helping us transform the way we fundraise on-air and in turn, making this fundraising effort a success.
Season 1 of BBQ with Franklin sparked something big, reaching over 2 million views on YouTube. KLRU and Aaron Franklin have walked you through the steps to make your own brisket, smoke a turkey and more. And now it’s time for season 2! For the last six months we’ve been cooking up new instructional videos but we need your help in finishing them.
We’re looking for community support to fund this project. Response from the first web season of BBQ with Franklin was smoking and we’ve been getting messages everyday asking for new videos. We want to deliver them as soon as we can, so money raised during this campaign will go directly to the finishing costs and post-production of the second series.
We’re just shy of raising half of our $20,000 goal. And when we hit the $10,000 mark, we’ll release the much anticipated beef ribs video. But we can’t do it without you! And when you support, we have some wonderful ways to thank you including koozies, bumper stickers, t-shirts and of course MEAT!
So help us throw another rack of ribs (beef ribs to be exact) on the smoker and share even more of Aaron’s vast expertise and knowledge of Texas barbecue with you. Summer is here and we’re celebrating the imminent arrival of the Central Texas heat by kicking off our June pledge drive. We need to raise $100,000 in the next 10 days so we can provide over 35,000 hours of free, high quality programming each year in the areas of education, arts & culture and public issues to everyone in Central Texas. Antiques Roadshow has announced its 2014 Summer Tour destinations and they’re making a stop at the Austin Convention Center on Saturday, June 28, 2014. To successfully run the appraisal event, Antiques Roadshow relies on local public television stations to help recruit volunteers from the local community. Volunteering for Antiques Roadshow is a great way to meet new people, have fun and participate in public television. Those individuals who volunteer can even have two items appraised!
Interested? Here’s some more information to know about volunteering for Antiques Roadshow:
The minimum age to volunteer is 18.
Volunteers are assigned various tasks including crowd control, welcoming guests, production assistance and more.
All Antiques Roadshow volunteer positions require standing or walking throughout the 12 hour event. Please ensure that you are able and willing to participate in this physically demanding day.
Breakfast, lunch, snacks and Antiques Roadshow polo shirts will be provided to all volunteers. Volunteers are required to wear the Antiques Roadshow polo shirt throughout the event.
All volunteers must attend a training session on Friday, June 27 from 4-6pm (the day before the event) and should plan on arriving at the Convention Center at 6:30am on Saturday, June 28. At check-in volunteers must show a government issued ID. Please note: attendance at Friday’s volunteer training is mandatory and volunteers must commit to assisting for the entire day on Saturday from 6:30am to approximately 7pm.

If you would like to attend Antiques Roadshow but are unable to volunteer, we have a limited number of general admission tickets available for your $400 donation to the station.
