The United Kingdom may be leaving the European Union, but looks like a new British drama is entering British Drama Night on KLRU-Q starting July 4. Hinterland, replaces Whitechapel, will be added to the lineup, which currently includes Death In Paradise, Detectorists and Luther.
Death In Paradise – airs at 8:05 pm
Sent to the tiny island of Saint-Marie to solve a mysterious murder, Detective Inspector Richard Poole is a total fish out of water. He can’t get out of there fast enough, but there’s a job to do and he does it brilliantly. His reward – a permanent posting to the island, his own personal hell on Earth. He may be stuck there, but he’s not going to let his standards slip. He’ll bring British rigor to this relaxed Caribbean workplace.
Detectorists – airs at 9 pm
Andy has been thinking about internet dating. Not for him, but for his friend Lance, who’s still not over his ex-wife. Meanwhile, a mysterious stranger arrives to tempt the Danebury Metal Detecting Club in more ways than one.
Luther – airs at 9:30 pm
When an art dealer’s wife is taken hostage at gunpoint, Luther leads a tense investigation. The hostage takers want payment in diamonds so, stalling for time, Luther substitutes a bag of replacement diamonds from the Serious Crime Unit’s evidence safe. Luther and DCI Reed are on hand to arrest the gang members picking up the gems, but when everything starts to unravel Luther begins to suspect that even Reed has double-crossed him.
Hinterland – airs at 10:25 pm
A noir crime drama in the scenic, centuries-old town of Aberystwyth, Wales. The area is a natural crucible of colliding worlds – a place where history, myth and tradition come face-to-face with modern life – but its panoramic vistas and quaint facade hide a multitude of sins.
