The final stretch of #yourklru

FEATURED_#YOURKLRU

We’re in the final stretch of this historic fundraising drive, #yourklru, and we couldn’t be more inspired by the response we’ve seen from Central Texans to this campaign. You’ve embraced this new way of giving to your only community-supported public television station and for that, we are so very grateful.

Thanks to you, we met yesterday’s $10,000 challenge match from Dr. Steven Ungerleider, putting us over $73,000! But we still have 15 hours until #yourklru ends at midnight tonight and we’ve made it our goal to hit $80,000. If you haven’t had a chance to make your gift in support of #yourklru, now’s the time!

Make a one-time gift or sustaining, monthly gift now!

And for a little extra encouragement, we have some great giveaways in store for our final day of #yourklru:

Also, our friends at Alamo Drafthouse Austin are helping to support ‪#‎yourklru‬! For every online ticket purchased this weekend to a showing of LOVE & MERCYthey will donate $1 to #yourklru! Your Favorites Week Returns!

Your Favorites - KLRU

You spoke and we listened! We’re kicking off our Spring Fundraising Drive and once again we’re pledging to do things a little bit different this time around.

You’ve told us that during our fundraising drives you don’t get an opportunity to support the programs that you regularly tune into here each week. In response, during our Winter Fundraising Drive, we provided you with one full week of your regularly scheduled primetime programming. Your Favorites week was such a success, we’re pledging to do it again!

Today, you can support Antiques RoadshowNova and Masterpiece Theater. And we have some fun ways to thank you when you support some of your favorite shows right now, like a chance to win tickets to see Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga at ACL Live at The Moody Theater on April 23rd or see an Austin City Limits taping of Sturgill Simpson on April 1st!

It’s a full week of YOUR FAVORITES and we’re counting on you to do your part to support the shows you rely on each week in order to help us transform the way we fundraise on-air.

Make a one-time gift or an ongoing, monthly gift online now – and keep the best in television, on television – for everyone in the Central Texas community!

Rodriguez was discovered in the late 1960s. In 1970, Rodriguez released his debut album “Cold Fact” followed by “Coming from Reality” in 1971. Both received little reception in the U.S., and Rodriguez decided to retire from music and settle down in Detroit. Unbeknownst to him, Rodriguez had become an icon in South Africa. Four decades later, the talented singer-songwriter is captivating audiences worldwide with his story and his music through the documentary “Searching for Sugar Man.” The hype from the film has revitalized Rodriguez’s music career, sending him on a worldwide tour, including the stop in Austin!
