What’s happening this weekend: Nov. 13-15

Happy November, Austin! Take advantage of a nice cool fall weekend in Central Texas with these events.

Celebrate Austin’s Asian American history through film

This weekend marks the Asian American Film Festival in Austin. Make sure to catch a screening of a short film from KLRU’s Austin Revealed: Pioneers of the East Friday night with Dr. Mitchel Wong. Austin Revealed is an oral history project sharing the stories of Austin’s past and present to encourage discussion and thought around the city’s future. In this series of Austin Revealed, Pioneers From the East, we profile three of the first families of Chinese origin to settle in the Austin area. You can watch all four videos below, and click here for a behind-the-scenes interview with filmmaker Tim Tsai. The film festival runs Thursday through Sunday – a full schedule and ticketing information can be found here.
