War For Guam, Monday at 10:30 pm, is a documentary about World War II and its enduring legacy in Guam, a U.S. territory since 1898. It tells the extraordinary story of how the Native people of Guam, the Chamorros, remained loyal to the U.S. under a brutal Japanese occupation, only to be later stripped of much of their ancestral lands by the American military.

Frontline Secrets, Politics And Torture Tuesday at 9 pm, investigates the fight over the CIA’s controversial interrogation methods, widely criticized as torture, through recently declassified documents and interviews with key political leaders and CIA insiders.

The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was an infantry regiment in the United States Army comprised of Americans of Japanese ancestry who fought in Italy and France during World War II against the German Army of Hitler’s Third Reich. Four-Four-Two, F Company At War follows the exploits of the company through the letters of 1st Sergeant Jack Wakamatsu and interviews of five “F” Company veterans. Airs Tuesday at 10 pm.

Nature Sagebrush Sea, Wednesday at 7 pm, explores of the most overlooked ecosystems on the continent: a massive sea of sagebrush that stretches across 11 states in the American West.

NOVA Rise Of The Hackers, Wednesday at 8 pm, goes behind the scenes of the fast-paced world of cryptography to meet the scientists battling to keep our data safe. They are experts in extreme physics, math, and a new field called “ultra-paranoid computing,” all working to forge unbreakable codes and build ultra-fast computers.

Michael Palin’s epic voyages have seen him circumnavigate the globe, travel from the North to the South Pole and circle the countries of the Pacific Ocean, but perhaps the greatest challenge facing an intrepid explorer is crossing the vast and merciless Sahara Desert. Sahara With Michael Palin Dire Straits shows the explorer-adventurer at his very best, Wednesday at 9 pm.

The Grammy-winning Bon Iver performs material from its self-titled second album on Austin City Limits, Wednesday at 10 pm and Friday at 10 pm.

Thursday at 7 pm, former Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank joins Overheard With Evan Smith. Frank is known as one of the most prominent gay politicians in American history and was the first sitting member of Congress to enter a same-sex marriage.

Arts In Context A Light In The Dark, Thursday at 7:30 pm, profiles Gail Chovan, whose locally made, handcrafted clothing challenges notions of traditional beauty.

Thursday at 8 pm on BBQ with Franklin: Brisket, learn how the brisket became a popular centerpiece of Central Texas BBQ. Hear from legends of Texas BBQ and be guided through a step-by-step brisket cook experiment using three different methods.

On The Daytripper: Schulenburg, Thursday at 8:30 pm, Chet explores the “Painted Churches of Texas” and dives into the German and Czech history of Central Texas with stops to a sausage maker, polka museum, and Texas dance hall serving hot schnitzel.

Operation Appreciation follows the volunteers as they collect cookies, brownies and doughnuts from local stores, and baked goods made by people in the community to distribute at Fort Hood, America’s largest military base. Airs Thursday at 9 pm.

Mosaic: The Deep Eddy Mural Project, Thursday at 9:30 pm, tells the story of the iconic art piece at the historic pool. Integrating art therapy with local workshops, Wanda Montemayor and her team spent nearly four years planning, developing and creating each of the countless individual tiles that would become part of the colossal mosaic mural at Deep Eddy Pool.
