Mark Bittman is an opinion columnist and lead food writer for The New York Times. His “Minimalist” column ran in the Times’ Dining section for more than 13 years. He’s written two books, the best-selling How to Cook Everything and the groundbreaking VB6: Eat Vegan Before6:00 to Lose Weight and Restore Your Health…for Good, which introduced Americans to the Flexitarian diet. His newest book, How to Cook Everything Fast, is out October 7. Bittman is in Austin to speak at the Food + Health 2014 conference.
Lawrence Wright is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and staff writer for The New Yorker. His newest book, out September 16, is Thirteen Days in September: Carter, Begin, and Sadat at Camp David, a day-by-day account of the 1978 Camp David Accords. Wright won the Pulitzer in 2007 for his book Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11. He last taped Overheard in January 2013 to discuss his best-seller, Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief.
