KLRU Q Night at the Movies spotlights a classic film on select Saturday nights at 8 p.m. This month’s feature films will be:
11/2 – Rebel Without A Cause
A realistic journey through a turbulent teenage universe of violence and delinquency. Recently selected by the American Film Institute as one of the 75 greatest American films of all time.
11/9 – Hawaii
A New England missionary (Max von Sydow) and his bride (Julie Andrews) bring Christianity to 1820s Hawaii.
11/16 – Strangers On A Train
A psychopath (Robert Walker) and a tennis player (Farley Granger) meet in a club car and plot that each will murder someone for the other.
11/23 – Wait Until Dark
Intruders search a blind woman’s (Audrey Hepburn) Greenwich Village apartment for a heroin-filled doll.
11/30 – Giant
George Stevens won an Academy Award for his direction of this legendary film based on Edna Ferber’s novel about a wealthy Texan (Rock Hudson) who marries a strong-willed beautiful woman (Elizabeth Taylor). Their adjustments to life on their ranch are interwoven with problems of Mexican workers and an ambitious young ranch hand (James Dean) who becomes an oil tycoon.
