KLRU-Q’s Saturday Night at the Movies presents a full-length feature film every Saturday night, plus extra content that gives the evening an exciting spin. Each film explores the work of legendary actors and actresses through many important films from their careers. Here is a peek of what this Saturday has in store:

7:00 – Just Seen ItEpisode #112
Vegas Magic, A 911 Call, A Family Tree and Politics as Usual: We review The Incredible Burt Wonderstone with Steve Carell and Jim Carrey. Discuss The Call with Halle Berry and The Place Beyond The Pines with Ryan Gosling. Then go to D.C. for the Netflix political drama – House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey.

7:30 – On Story  - Buck Henry: A Hollywood Story
From The Graduate and Catch-22 to “Saturday Night Live” and “Get Smart,” iconic comedic and distinctly American writer, director, and actor Buck Henry recalls his long and storied career in Hollywood. Followed by the heartwarming story of a failed ukulele player and her talking puppet dog, The Ballad of Friday and June by writer/director Tate English.

8:00 – Four Weddings And A Funeral
The intermittent romance between a charming Englishman (Hugh Grant) and a beautiful American woman (Andie MacDowell) who always seem to run into each other at weddings. Cast: Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas.

10:00 – Tina Fey: The Mark Twain Prize
The 13th Annual Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor goes to . . . Tina Fey! Multiple Grammy, Golden Globe and Writers’ Guild award–winner for her work as actor, writer and producer for “30 Rock,” “Saturday Night Live” and more, Fey is toasted/roasted by an A-list class of comedic talent, including former Twain Prize winners Steve Martin and Lorne Michaels, along with Steve Carell, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Hudson, Jane Krakowski, Seth Meyers, Tracy Morgan, Fred Armisen, Amy Poehler and Betty White.

11:30 – Loreena Mckennitt: A Moveable Musical Feast
Loreena Mckennitt: A Moveable Musical Feast follows Canadian singer/composer Loreena McKennitt as she embarks on her 2007 An Ancient Muse tour. The performance documentary offers a rare backstage look at one of contemporary music’s most interesting live acts. Candid behind-the-scenes interviews with McKennitt, her band, crew and colleagues reveal the rigors of touring. McKennitt and her fellow travellers entertain viewers with stories of how they “raise a small village” each night they perform, discuss the joys and challenges of their nomadic life on the road, and explain the creative relationships they share with one another, the music and the audience. A Moveable Musical Feast features previously unreleased musical performances of “Never-Ending Road (Amhran Duit)” and “The Gates of Istanbul.”
