Andrew Card served for five years as chief of staff for President George W. Bush. Even people who aren’t political junkies will recognize him from a famous photograph from September 11, 2001, showing Card whispering in Bush’s ear, informing him about the terrorist attacks that had just taken place. Card’s political career began in 1975, when he joined the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He later served as a special advisor to Ronald Reagan, and as Transportation Secretary and deputy chief of staff to President George H. W. Bush. Card is currently the acting Dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
