My favorite Texas music comes from a variety of cultures... whether it's the wonderful Western swing of Bob Wills (who sent out many an ah-ha! to Johnny Gimble), the rambunctiously great combinations of styles played by the Texas Tornados (then and now), or the ever-changing partners picked by Willie Nelson as he continues to explore country, roots, and rock & roll. My "Tejas music" playlist in my iTunes ranges from Blind Lemon Jefferson to Stevie Ray, Big Mama Thornton to Bob Schneider, Flaco to Los Lonely Boys, the East Texas Serenaders to Townes, Ray Wylie, and Robert Earl. Impossible to choose, all wonderful to hear!
