Cable

KLRU offers two separate cable channels for customers of Time Warner Cable and Grande Communications basic services.

KLRU 2

In February 1988, KLRU established a second telecommunications service through Time Warner Cable on channel 20 (see list for the channel in your area). KLRU2 provides viewers with alternative programming and more opportunities to see their favorite PBS shows.

During the day, KLRU2 presents instructional programs such as cooking, gardening and craft shows plus topical programs focusing on technology, health and money issues.
KLRU2's daytime lineup also features the Kids Channel, a 6-1/2 hour block of uninterrupted educational shows for kids each weekday from noon to 6:30 p.m. and for 7-1/2 hours on weekends from 12:30 to 8 p.m.

KLRU2's prime time lineup includes encore presentations of PBS' most popular shows but also features programs on ethics, film, gardening, travel and other special interests that are not included in KLRU's lineup.

KLRU-G

In February 2006, KLRU launched KLRU-G with Grande Communications. KLRU-G provides Grande Cable subscribers in Austin and San Marcos PBS’ quality, family programming as well as KLRU’s local productions on channel 15.

KLRU-G features an arts and crafts “how to” block daily from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., followed by children’s programming from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring shows like “Clifford,” “Arthur,” “Zoom,” “Reading Rainbow” and “Biscuit Brothers.”

Starting at 4 p.m., KLRU-G provides news-oriented shows, including BBC News, “Downtown” and “NewsHour.” Evening program will include a variety of informative and entertaining KLRU and PBS specials.
